Every year on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.
Bracken Ridge State High School acknowledge the hard work being undertaken by the Reconciliation Action Plan team and encourage all staff and students to continue to find ways to learn more about Australian History.
National Reconciliation Week
The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
Bracken Ridge High has a number of activities to engage all students and staff to encourage healthy conversations and to move forward collectively in a positive and respectful way.
