Bursaries​​​​​

Bracken Ridge State High School offers a number of bursaries to students joining the school community as Year 7 students.  

Bursaries are offered to recognise the student’s exemplary achievements in the areas of Academic, Sports and Cultural.

Students must provide details of their academic achievements (e.g. distinction in Maths competition), sporting achievements (e.g. age champion, representative position) or cultural achievements (e.g. participation and leadership in cultural events) to support their application.

Successful applications will receive a bursary amount of $250.00 to be used for the Student Resource Scheme or other school related activities.

If you are interested in applying for a bursary:

  1. Complete the application form​​​​

  2. Return all documents to Bracken Ridge State High School, Administration Office, in an envelope clearly marked ‘BURSARY APPLICATION’
  3. Submit your application and documentation when applications open at the end of the year.

Terms and conditions 

Applications will be forwarded to the school panel for consideration. 

Successful applicants will be entitled to 1 bursary only. 

The successful applicants will be notified as part of their end of year events. The panel’s decision will be final.

Instrumental Music Scholarships

​​Bracken Ridge State High School (BRSHS) will be offering 4 Instrumental Music Scholarships to students joining the school community as Year 7 students.

Scholarships are offered to recognise the student's exemplary achievements and talents in the area of Instrumental Music. Applications must be a current Year 6 Instrumental Music student. 

Successful applications will receive a bursary amount of $250 to be used for the Instrumental Music activities including instrument hire, levies/fees, band uniforms and excursions.

Applications for Instrumental Music Scholarships include both a written application and audition. For auditions, students are asked to prepare two short, contrasting pieces to share with our staff from our Music Department.  Further information will be emailed to families after written applications close.
