With mobile and other wireless devices becoming an increasing requirement across every industry today, it only makes sense that Bracken Ridge SHS makes effective use of technology in the classroom.
All students at Bracken Ridge SHS will use laptops to personalise and enrich their learning experience.
Use of Laptops at Bracken Ridge State High School
Our Laptop Resource Scheme provides the opportunity to purchase a laptop over a payment period of 3 years - years 7-9 & years 10-12. Upon agreement to the Laptop Resource Scheme, a device is provided to the student for use for a period of 3 calendar years. If a student leaves the school before the 3-year payment period is fulfilled, there is an opportunity to purchase the device and pay an additional small fee to retain the device. This additional fee covers the cost of secure removal of all electronic data and registration of software under the user's name.
These laptops are managed by our on-site IT technician, including all warranty repairs.
Laptop Resource scheme benefits:
- Single device option that meets the requirements of all subject options
- Connected to the school network before handover – no action required for access to school network, internet and printing
- Payment or payment plan required before issue of school laptop
- 3 years warranty, accidental damage protection included
Only laptops hired through the Laptop Resource Scheme are supported to access the school internet and intranet. Privately owned devices cannot be connected to our school network.
