For the last four years Bracken Ridge has operated a Homework Club. The club allows students to complete homework and work on assessments in a quiet and well resourced space. The club does not offer tutoring however at times teachers will drop in to assist students. The club is manned by experienced teacher aides who assist students with organization, understanding of assessment tasks and will assist with the research skills needed to complete tasks. The club does not operate every week of the year however the opening times and dates are communicated through newsletters and social media posts. Students are welcome to access the club individually or as study groups as long as they are respectful of others.
The expectations of students are that they:
- Return the permission form
- Bring homework and assessment tasks to work on
- Sign in and out of the Resource Centre
- Work in a quiet and respectful manner
- Follow the directions of staff
- Adhere to the Student Code of Conduct
