Mathematics is an essential skill that people use every day. Often people see Mathematics as a subject that they were required to study at school and often it is viewed poorly. We have a belief that all students can be good at Mathematics and we strive to ensure that with excellent teachers and a very down to earth program that uses direct examples of mathematics in the real world. We are delighted with how the students value the subject and have shown excellence in not only results of their subjects but also the awards won in Mathematics competitions including the Australian Maths Competition, Murrumba Downs Maths Competition, QAMT competition, etc.
Like most schools Bracken Ridge State High School is continuing to follow the National Curriculum in years 7 to 10 and Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority Subjects in years 11 and 12. Our senior results are ranked very highly and we are very proud of our students with a number of them being awarded a VHA 10 (the very best result you can achieve in Queensland).
At Bracken Ridge we have an ownership of our students and work intently to have them not only achieve as well as they can but also develop a love of the Mathematics that we are doing. We use many different formats to develop this including online tutorials, the homework club, Edstudios and eLearn programs.
