Helping students access the health care they need
Students at Bracken Ridge State High School now have access to a free GP clinic at school from June 2022.
Our school’s clinic will be staffed by Dr Yan Lee a General Practitioner (GP).
Dr Yan Lee will provide students with the majority of the same services that GPs in the community do, including management of physical health, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health issues. Only secondary students enrolled at Bracken Ridge State High School will be able to access healthcare in our school’s clinic.
Our school’s GP clinic will be open every Tuesday during school terms between 7.30am-11.30am. Appointments will be available before school, and during class times, as well as at break times.
Appointments to see the school GP can be made either in person by visiting the Wellbeing Hub student counter, emailing
gp@brackenridgeshs.eq.edu.au or calling 3869 7214.
All visits with the school GP will be provided at no cost to students or their families. The GP will bulk-bill all appointments through Medicare, so it is important that your child brings their Medicare card or number with them to their appointment.
If students are ineligible to access Medicare, contact the Wellbeing Hub Administration for further information.
Dr Yan is medical graduate of the University of Queensland (2017) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). His principal place of practice is at Victoria Point. He is approachable and easy to talk to, and is passionate about helping adolescents with all aspects of their health and wellbeing.
