Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance (SATE)
Senior Schooling has changed in Queensland. In 2018 the first cohort of Year 11 students commenced the new Queensland Certification of Education (QCE) and Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) system. This new system combines new and redeveloped General and Applied subject syllabuses with VET certificate courses in a model that includes school-developed and delivered curriculum assessment with an externally developed assessment item for each General and Applied subject studied.
At Bracken Ridge SHS we are committed to ensuring the successful transition of our students into this new senior schooling model. To aid in this we have put together a SATE Project Team who will be leading the implementation of SATE in our school in conjunction with our school’s Administration and Leadership Teams, as well as Teaching Staff and Teacher’s Aides. We strongly believe that every person within our school community is a part of a student’s learning journey and success, so it is our aim to keep everyone informed and working together to achieve this because we believe our students can do it.
This website page is where you will find all information from the school’s SATE Project Team in relation to community presentations, student and guardian opportunities for engagement, as well as in our Facebook updates and the SATE Bites found in our fortnightly newsletters. Links to relevant informational flyers and documents can be found to the right and are a useful source of further information available.
