The Ignite Academic Acceleration Pathway is a differentiated pathway that caters specifically for highly capable students.
In the Bracken Ridge State High School Ignite Academic Acceleration Pathway, students have the opportunity to learn and be assessed at a pace exceeding that of their current year level, with a focus on 21st Century Skills.
The ignite program is currently being offered at our school in 2024 and 2025.
What does the Ignite Academic Acceleration Pathway look like?
The pathway aims to respond flexibly to advanced student learning needs, particularly those of high achieving students.
To prepare students for global learning and active citizenship, students in this pathway are challenged with concepts beyond their current year level, with a focus on cross curriculum priorities and 21st century skills.
Ignite classes will occur in English, Social Science, Mathematics and Science.
To be involved in the pathway, students do not need to excel in all subject areas, but would need to be maintaining high standards of effort and behaviour across their program.
Students in this pathway are offered extension and acceleration with the aim of keeping students challenged and engaged with high level academic work throughout their schooling.
To remain part of Ignite, students must maintain high academic standards in all studied subjects.
Ignite students should readily engage in opportunities to extend themselves academically, such as participating in state and/or national competitions.
