Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA)
At Bracken Ridge State High School, it is the goal of senior education that all students transitioning into the post-compulsory phase of schooling (years 11 and 12) will actively work towards attaining their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA).
To be awarded a QCE, students must complete a minimum of 20 credit points from a combination of course including:
- General (ATAR) Subjects
- Essential and Applied Subjects
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) Certificate courses
- School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT) Program
- Vocational Training delivered through TAFE and other RTOs
Students must also meet minimum literacy and numeracy requirements.
The Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA) reports the learning achievement of eligible students who complete an individual learning program. At the end of the senior phase of learning, eligible students achieve a QCIA.
