Trade to teach opportunities

The Queensland Department of Education is now accepting applications for a new pilot called Trade to Teach – where tradespeople are supported to become Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) teachers.

Queensland needs teachers who can teach Engineering Skills, Furnishing, Building and Construction, Industrial Graphics and Industrial Technology Skills.

The Trade to Teach Internship Program supports tradespeople to study an undergraduate teaching degree at a partner university Central Queensland University (CQU) or University of Southern Queensland (Uni ​SQ), with a scholarship, a paid internship, an ITD mentor and a guaranteed permanent teaching role upon graduation in a Queensland secondary state school.

Applications open on 12 September and close on 9 October.  Visit www.qld.gov.au/tradetoteach to apply.
