Our community

Bracken Ridge State High School has an active P&C and support from school families. We actively nurture ties with local business and community groups to give our students the best possible 'real world' experiences and training.

At various times each year the opportunity will exist for you to participate in our school in a variety of ways. We encourage you to become involved in our school through these official forums and to contact staff at other times through the office to discuss your child’s progress. In such situations our office staff will require a broad understanding of your need in order to ensure you are connected with the most appropriate person to adequately address your situation. Parents visiting the school without appointments may be delayed or find the information they seek is not readily available.

A significant strength of our school is the partnerships that exist across our school community and more importantly you. Parents are invited and encouraged to contact the school at any time but particularly in relation to a student’s progress.

We are very heavily involved in community events such as Anzac day ceremonies where a number of students are involved in the march every year, traineeships school base apprenticeships and work experience across many areas of the community and many other events that occur in the community.

We are very proud of our student’s efforts and achievements and interests beyond the school and encourage students to become involved in programs that assist others in the community.

Every year our award winning  band plays at the Royal National Show in Brisbane and we have also performed at other schools and competitions.

The P&C plays an essential role in supporting the school across many areas including the new hats for students where they are subsidising this program at considerable cost.

Bracken Ridge SHS is especially proud of our students and this extends far beyond the boundaries of the school. We encourage past students to celebrate the friendships made over their time at the year and we will always be proud to recognise their involvement in the growth of the school.

Continue to read about our community interests through the P&C, Parent teacher communication and Past student pages.
